Hi, I’m Andrea Frahn. I’m a Singer & Songwriter, enthusiastic vocal coach & music teacher.
My teaching philosophy.
I strive to create lessons that nurture your creativity and hold space for experimenting with your voice. I provide lessons that will help you to let go of perfection and embrace the freedom of singing and creating. As a certificated singer with a bachelor in music, I believe an open and joyful environment, paired with expert guidance, will help to unlock your musical potential.
I’ve been working as a singer and music teacher for the past 15 years.
I got my first job in the creative industry right after high school when I worked as the assistant director for the the theater in my hometown in Germany.
But music was calling me and I went on to study music at the ArtEZ Conservatory in the Netherlands. After two years at Artez’s Pop-academy in Enschede I wanted to dive deeper into all kinds of genres so I switched to the Jazz and Pop Department in Arnhem, where I successfully finished my studies with a bachelor in music. During my time at the conservatory I played shows in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands, and started a musical school for children.
After I was awarded my bachelor of music degree in 2013, I moved to Hamburg, Germany. There I taught at the Music Academy Hamburg, the Sänger Academie Hamburg and the Gymnasium Niendorf. During my time in the Hanseatic city, I worked as an independent singer-songwriter, played solo and ensemble shows under my artist name REA and released my first EP Deep Blue Sea.
In 2020, I opened my own studio - the Creative Voice Studio , this time in the high desert of New Mexico in the US. My Studio became part of the creative community in Santa Fe and quickly filled up with lots of students whom I guided with their vocal skills and creative growth.
With the birth of my first child in 2023, I moved to Amsterdam Oost and reopened the Creative Voice Studio, now part of the Broedplaats De Hellema. I also continue to make music as an independent artist under the name REA.
I’m an enthusiastic teacher and artist
and still eager to keep on educating myself on all topics that encompass the musical performance, creativity and art. I completed my latest course in arranging contemporary music at the Berklee College of Music in 2021. In 2017, 2019 and in 2023 I was awarded an artist residency at the Arteles Residency in Haukijärvi, Finland.
